ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto will be among the heads of state and government and international organisations who will attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) opening in Davos on Jan 23.

The government delegation will include Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

Convening under the theme, “Creating a Shared Future in the Fractured World”, the four-day meeting will focus on finding ways to reaffirm international cooperation on crucial shared interests, such as international security, environment and global economy.

Alongside international cooperation, an additional priority of the meeting will be to overcome divisions within countries.

This year’s opening address will be delivered by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while US President Donald Trump will deliver keynote address before the close of the meeting.
