Water wastage

Published January 17, 2018

WATER is a precious commodity that should be used judiciously and treasured.

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) asked all Muslims not to waste water even if they were performing ablutions from a running stream. Unfortunately, in our country we ignore even the Holy Prophet’s instructions.

It is often seen at water filteration plants that people do not care to await their turn and jostle. This leads to altercations and sometimes violence. Meanwhile water is going waste from the taps.

The civic authorities should draw a procedure and code of conduct for citizens filling water at filteration plants.
