KARACHI, May 7: Provincial Anti-Corruption Court on Saturday repeated non-bailable warrants of provincial sacked revenue minister Imtiaz Sheikh, his brother Maqbool Sheikh and other revenue officials in corruption cases. The revenue department officials, sacked provincial minister Imtiaz Sheikh, and his brother Maqbool Sheikh are charged with forgery in revenue record, fraud, facilitation to land mafia and abuse of their official position causing huge loss to government exchequer.

The court was told by Nadeem Shahzad Hashmi, counsel of one co-accused Adbul Hafeez Shoro, released on bail last month, that his client could not appear before the court as he was arrested in other corruption cases in Mirpurkhas.

The ACC headed by Judge Arjan Ram Tareja repeating non-bailable warrants of absconding co-accused ordered their arrest and adjourned the matter till May 24. —PPI
