PESHAWAR: Minister of State for Energy (Power Division) Abid Sher Ali on Thursday announced that children of employees of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company would soon be recruited in the company according to quota.

Addressing the employees here at Pesco headquarters, he said that the employees with good performance would also be given awards and bonuses.

Members of the provincial assembly, Pesco chief executive Engineer Shabir Ahmad, all chief engineers, superintending engineers and field officers were also present on this occasion.

The minister advised the Pesco employees to work hard for the company’s stability and make it a profit-earning organisation.

He said that new recruitment of employees’ children would be made in the company to overcome staff shortage besides improving its overall efficiency.

He directed the field officers to hold open kutcheris on circle, division and sub-division levels on monthly basis so as to address the problems of power consumers.

He advised the field staff to work for consumers’ facilitation and warned that employees with poor performance would be taken to task.

Mr Ali said that new projects worth billions of rupees had been initiated throughout the province.

On this occasion, he announced grid stations for Mansehra, Abbottabad, Nowshera, DI Khan, Lora, Chakdara, Khanpur and Torghar.
