ISLAMABAD: Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (Pims) Prof Abid Zaheer Farooqi on Thursday appointed Dr Raja Amjad Mehmood as the new administrator of the hospital In November 2016, the Supreme Court removed Pims administrator Dr Iqbal Memon, deputy executive director Dr Ayesha Isani and university registrar Dr Amjad Chaudhry.

The court ordered them to work in their respective departments and observed that officers of administrative cadre should be hired for the posts.

Later, Dr Altaf Hussain Qureshi was appointed as the administrator of Pims.

A notification issued by the VC on Thursday stated that as Dr Qureshi would reach the age of superannuation on January 20, the charge of administrator was being given to Dr Raja Amjad Mehmood, senior most joint executive director of the administrative cadre.

Dr Mehmood will take charge of the hospital on January 20.
