OIC summit

US President Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a violation of the Security Council Resolutions.

The presence of Venezuela’s leftist president at the OIC summit was worth noting. This shows that not only the Muslim Ummah but the world by and large is against Mr Trump’s decision about Palestine and Israel.

The OIC summit, however, failed to come up with measures against the US decision.

The OIC summit in Istanbul proved to be a flash in the pan. The furious Muslim Ummah was hoping against hope that the Islamic countries would come up with a rock-solid stance, but the expectations vanished in thin air.

Internal differences and conflicts have left Muslims vulnerable in today’s world. The absence of the Saudi king and his crown prince shows Muslim ummah is going through one of the darkest periods of its history.
