QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Khan Zehri has said the coalition government will fulfil all promises made to the people of the province.

Talking to journalists in Sibi after inspecting the pace of work on the Sibi-Harnai railway section on Thursday, he said restoration work on the track had started in 2015 and it would be completed during the tenure of the present government. It would benefit the people of Sibi and Harnai in terms of trade and transportation of vegetables and minerals, Mr Zehri said.

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, provincial Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Frontier Corps Inspector General Maj Gen Nadeem Anjum, National Logistics Cell Director General Maj Gen Faisal Mushtaq, Balochistan IG Moazzam Jah Ansari and senior railway officials were present on the occasion.

CM Zehri said the provincial government was effectively working on development projects. “We are keen to provide better job and business opportunities to our people. I have directed all departments to fill the vacant seats on merit.”

In response to a question about the law and order situation in the province, he said peace was being restored in major parts of Balochistan. “No one will be allowed to challenge the writ of the government and it’s our responsibility to protect the life and property of the people.”

He said more recruitment would be made in Levies soon in order to strengthen the force to effectively combat terrorists.
