Will Sunny Leone be cast in a film inspired by Meena Kumari's life?

Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit sure aren't interested

Sunny Leone may be eyeing a project far different from her previous ones.

According to Indian Express, writer-director Karan Razdan was keen on signing on Vidya Balan for his script on the life of veteran actor Meena Kumari. "The inspiration was a real-life personality, but then [I] fictionalised it. It is inspired from Meena Kumari," he said. However the Tumhari Sulu actor turned down the offer.

"I narrated something to her but at the moment she wants to do something that’s non-serious. She has had too much of serious stuff. We spoke at length. Maybe tomorrow I may have that kind of a script for her. But at the moment, I wanted her to play the role of an actress of the 1960s. The film dealt with alcoholism and tragedy."

His next choice was Madhuri Dixit, but she refused as well. Surprisingly, Sunny Leone was the only one to have showed interest in the film.

"I think the only one, who is courageous enough and said to me, ‘When can we start this film?’, has been Sunny Leone," said the director.

"It didn’t scare Vidya for sure. In fact, she believes she was Meena Kumar in [her] past life. But the point is that it would need courage. I have narrated it to Madhuri but it didn’t work out for one reason or the other. Sunny came along, she said she had heard about this film and wanted me to narrate it," added Razdan.

However, he's not sure about casting her: "I met her at her house, had a long narration. I don’t know… She is not the ideal choice, I would say. But she was the most enthusiastic (about doing the role). I guess, she also saw this as her big chance."

Does she fit in the role? She does not even know how to speak Urdu. What kind of fun we are doing with our literature.

Sunny Leone is good at only one thing. Showing her body and other assets and doing sensual things with them. I don't know if Meena Kumari was sensual and sexually provocative - because I wasn't born at the time when she died. I have read that Meena Kumari died in a miserable condition because of her heavy drug habit and chronic alchoholism, and she died alone, because everybody else including Kamal Amrohi her ex-husband had totally abandoned her. She didn't have any money to call a doctor or pay for her medicines, and she could not even afford her coffin.
