LAHORE: Pakistan’s men and women teams after winning 15 gold medals in the Oceania-Pacific Powerlifting Championship arrived in Lahore from Singapore on Tuesday.

Mayor of Lahore retired Col. Mubashar welcomed the players at the airport.

From Pakistan, sisters Sahbil Sohail and Twinkle Sohail grabbed four gold medals each in 47kg and 72kg, respectively. Saniha Ghafoor claimed four golds in 57kg category.

In the men’s category, Nadeem Hashmi, Mahmood Heera and Mohammad Ahmed Khan seized one gold medal each.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways announced awards for Saniha and Twinkle, doubling their monthly salaries besides awarding them cash prizes of Rs50,000 each.
