LAHORE: A committee which found some serious irregularities in the question paper of admission test for the PhD programme of the Punjab University’s Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) has recommended 10 marks for all candidates.

The Departmental Doctoral Programme Committee, headed by Dean Dr Zakria Zakir, made recommendations in the light of the report of a committee made to look into the flawed paper marking.

Candidate Khurram Shahzad, who is also PU spokesman, had raised the issue before the Lahore High Court, saying he had attempted a few questions with correct answers but his answers were marked wrong.

The Lahore High Court directed Dr Zakir to inquire into the allegations.

An independent inquiry committee, headed by Lahore College for Women’s University Chairperson Dr Anjum Zia, probed into the matter.

Mr Shahzad appearing before the committee raised objections on nine questions and presented references from books and theories.

Dr Zakir told Dawn 30 candidates had appeared in the entrance test and all passed the test.

He said the list of successful candidates would be released on Dec 11 and later the candidates would be called for interview.
