Trials for British Jr tourney starts

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: The trials for forthcoming British Junior Squash Championship followed by SAF Games, 2004 started on Monday at PSB Squash Complex.

Keeping in view the results shown by the Junior players in 2002 & 2003 British Junior championship, Pakistan Squash federation (PSF) has decided to participate in the January, 2004, event with three players in each age category i-e U 19, U 17, U 15 & 13.

Top ten players of each age category from the national ranking were invited for the trials at PSB Squash Complex.

Yasir Butt, Khalid Atlas from Under 19, Frhan Mehboob U 17, Amir Atlas U 15 and Waqar Mehboob U 13 have exempted from the trials.

A training camp will be organized at PSB Squash Complex under national coach Rehmat Khan to prepare for the participation in the prestigious British event.

The trials will be followed by the team selection for the participation in the SAF Games squash event for which trials will be held in the first week of January which will include the senior players on their return from the World T0eam Championship.

The camp of the girls is already in progress at Lahore to prepare for the SAF games. These camps have been planned with cooperation of PSB.
