ISLAMABAD: NAB clarifies position

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: Commenting on an MMA leader’s statement appearing in Dawn on Oct 20 under the headline “Inquiry demanded into NAB’s performance”, a NAB spokesman has said NAB Sindh has recovered part of the lost money the company directors accused in the Alliance Motors scam. It has also assisted the SHC official assignee in recovering a major part of the money from the culprits.

The spokesman has also said 18 NAB Sindh officials are working in collaboration with the SHC official assignee to streamline the entire record of Alliance scam money trial, leading to recoveries and the custody of the culprits who were at large for the last 12 years. NAB held them in custody in order to complete interrogation process that was meant to verify the entire record of financial bunglings, affecting hundreds of middle income group investors.
