KARACHI, Oct 20: Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) has maintained that murder of police officer Zeeshan Kazmi, would have a negative impact on Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case.

In a resolution, adopted during a meeting of the party’s Sindh Council at 70 Clifton, the PPP(SB) said that it had been hoping that one day Zeeshan Kazmi would be arrested and produced before the court to record his statement in connection with the murder case.

The meeting was chaired by the party’s Sindh chief Minhan Khan Rind and attended, among others, by the chairperson, Ms Ghinwa Bhutto.

A resolution adopted on the occasion deplored the recent incident of honour killing in which two persons, Shazia Khaskheli and Hassan Solangi, were eliminated on the orders of a jirga in Sanghar. It demanded that the deplorable tradition of Karo-kari be banished from society.

Through another resolution, the meeting demanded that Kalabagh Dam and Greater Thal Canal issues be considered in the Council of Common Interests and the water issue be resolved in a transparent manner.

Rejecting the Lyari Expressway project, it demanded that Northern Bypass project, envisaged by the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto government, be implemented.

The meeting deplored hike in prices of atta and other items ahead of Ramazan. It maintained that the price hike would add to the difficulties of poor masses. It also demanded that the dues payable to the Thatta Sugar Mill employees be disbursed.

The PPP(SB) stressed that the issue of sending troops to Iraq be addressed in accordance with the wishes of the people of Pakistan.
