LARKANA, Aug 28: The Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit bench, on Thursday appointed an additional registrar as inspection commissioner to survey sanitary conditions in the city.

Advocate Qadir Bux Bhatti had filed a petition before the SHC against the taluka and district Nazims for failing to provide basic civic amenities to residents.

On Thursday, TMO Abdul Kareem Shaikh, appeared before Justice Sayyed Zawar Hussain Naqvi and Justice Musheer Alam and presented area-wise sanitation of the town.

Additional registrar, Altaf Hussain Chandio, will present the report of survey on the next hearing, scheduled on Sept 18, 2003.

Advocate Ghulam Asghar Abro and advocate Aftab Ahmad Gorar appeared on behalf of the taluka and district Nazims, respectively.

NAIB NAZIM UNSEATED: The Naib Nazim of UC-3 (Larkana town) was removed through a no-confidence move on Thursday.

Seventeen members out of 18 voted against Ali Muzafar Abro. The move is said to be a tit-for-tat reaction by the PPP against all Naib Nazims of UCs for their voting against the Awam Dost Taluka Nazim, Nazir Ahmad Shaikh.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead, allegedly by his brother-in-law, in the Allahabad locality in the Darri police station jurisdiction here on Saturday evening.

The man killed was identified as Manzoor Abro.

Ms Khursheed, the sister of the deceased, lodged a case against her husband, Ghulam Qadir Patujo, Mohammad Ali Patujo, Ghulam Ali Patujo and Shahnawaz Abro.

The police said the murder was the result of a matrimonial dispute.
