A Chinese delegation called on Sindh Minister for Transport Syed Nasir Hussain Shah to discuss the revival of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project, read a press release.

The 30-member delegation comprising representatives of Chinese companies was led by Chinese Consul General Wang Yu.

Secretary Transport and Mass Transit Saeed Ahmed Awan apprised the delegation about the progress, modalities and design matters with particular reference to the revival of the KCR.

He said that main problem pertaining to the KCR was encroachment and provision of alternate places to the affected people.

The minister said the groundbreaking of the KCR project is expected to be held on December 25. He said that safety and security of the visiting Chinese nationals will be ensured.
