Victoria's Secret's Shanghai show has been eventful to say the least, and not in a good way.

China had earlier banned the show's singer Katy Perry and models Gigi Hadid and Irina Sharipova, among others from entering the country, and unfortunately for VS, its bad luck didn't end there.

Women's Wear Daily reported that the VS after party Monday night, which took place at 9pm after the fashion show wrapped up, was abruptly cut short at 11.50pm when Chinese authorities ordered the activities to come to a halt. This took place only minutes after DJ Victor Aime came out to perform.

"They want us to finish. We are sorry, we tried," said one of the organisers on the microphone as she asked audiences to exit the premises.

Last week, Katy, who was set to perform at the VS show, had applied for a Chinese visa but it was denied by Chinese officials. This decision came after authorities saw a video of her waving a Taiwanese flag during the concert in show of support for the country, which has been pushing for independence with China for years now.

Gigi, on the other hand, has been banned over an Instagram video — in which she holds up a biscuit shaped like a Buddha statue and closes her eyes as if she were mimicking the religious figure.

There is a reason why the west will always been number 1 when it comes human freedom. China is at least 100 years away from that spot.
