PESHAWAR: A government school’s Class-IV employee on Saturday moved the Peshawar High Court against a member of provincial assembly and a district education officer for creating hurdles to his duty in Charsadda.

In the petition, Israj Khan of Charsadda alleged that DEO (female) Sofia Tabassum supporting PK-20 MPA Khalid Khan Mohmand had been hampering his work as naib qasid (BPS-3) so as to terminate his service in the end.

He alleged that the MPA had severely beaten him up and hadn’t been allowing him to do duty in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ziam, Tangi tehsil.

The petitioner added that the MPA had forcibly got his thumb impression on a blank paper.

He prayed the court to stop respondents, including lawmaker, DEO, government, Charsadda deputy commissioner and school principal, from taking any ‘adverse and illegal’ action against him.

The petitioner said the MPA, an influential person in the area, had asked him to take his sister, a ninth grader, out of the school and send her to his mother-in-law’s house in Peshawar to serve as maid.

He insisted that the MPA also asked his (petitioner’s) mother to work at his house.

The petitioner said his sister refused to leave the school infuriating the MPA, who threatened him with dire consequences.

He also said his family was ousted from the house built on the school’s premises.

The petitioner alleged that the MPA along with his cousin Majid and gunman constable Ali Akbar beat him up on Oct 29 and forcibly obtained impression of his thumb on a blank paper on his refusal to tender resignation from the government service.

He said he approached the DEO but she declined to entertain his complaint.

The petitioner said he later filed an application for justice with the Charsadda DC, who formally asked the DEO to ensure the resolution of the issue but the DEO didn’t take action on the directives as she had connived with the MPA.

He said the MPA later stopped him from entering the school claiming it was built on his property.

The petitioner added that he again approached the DC, who asked the DEO on Nov 15 to transfer him to some other school but she didn’t comply.

He said he later got a leave application approved by the school principal but it was cancelled by the DEO at the behest of the MPA.

The petitioner said the acts of the MPA and DEO to create hurdles to his service was illegal.
