LAHORE, Aug 27: The underpass on The Mall will be completed within two months and a half and encroachments from all its link roads will be removed within 15 days.

The DCO made the announcements at a joint meeting of The Mall and the Hall Road traders here on Wednesday. He said the Town Municipal Officers would be proceeded against if encroachments were not removed within the specified time.

He ordered stopping of construction of plazas on The Mall and Hall Road being built without providing adequate parking space. He also asked the Hall Road traders to stop selling the CDs and video cassettes with obscene recordings.

He said the Hall Road traders could solve their parking problem by using their cars for pick and drop facility instead of parking them on the road throughout the day.

He said charging of fee in plazas with parking lots was a crime. Only the City District Government could award parking fee recovery contracts. He ordered establishment of a permanent camp of CDG employees on The Mall for the removal of encroachments. —Reporter
