RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out operations across the country and recovered 51.4kg of drugs and arrested 25 people, including two women, besides impounding three vehicles.

According to a press release, the seized drugs comprised 21.4kg hashish, 8.6kg heroin, 3.7kg methamphetamine, 6.2kg opium, 880gms amphetamine and 510,000 Xanax tablets weighing 10.7kg.

The ANF Rawalpindi arrested Zakir, a resident of Nowshera, from the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on suspicious of ingesting narcotics-filled capsules and admitted him to a hospital.

It said so far 60 heroin-filed capsules weighing 380gms have been recovered from the suspect. The arrested man was travelling to Abu Dhabi.

The ANF Quetta recovered 5kg opium by arresting a peddler identified as Mohammad Sadiq, a resident of Karachi.

The ANF Karachi intercepted a consignment from Pakistan International Container Terminal, Seaport, Karachi, and recovered 4.3kg heroin concealed in it.

The consignment was destined for Malaysia.

The drugs were concealed in cartons of shoes containing 132 pairs. In another operation, the ANF Karachi intercepted a container at Port Qasim and recovered 40,000 Xanax tablets weighing 10kg. The container was destined for UAE. The arrested accused, identified as Junaid Sheikh and Imran Baig, are residents of Karachi.

In the third operation, the ANF intercepted a parcel being sent to UK through a cargo service and recovered 1.8kg heroin form it.

In the fourth operation, the ANF Karachi arrested Imran Ali, a resident of Sargodha from the Jinnah International Airport, and recovered 2kg methamphetamine concealed in a jar.

The arrested accused was going to Saudi Arabia.

The ANF Lahore arrested Ittefaq Ahmed, a resident of Sargodha, at Multan International Airport. He was travelling to Saudi Arabia and carrying 880gms amphetamine.

In another operation, the ANF Lahore arrested Nadeem Qasim, a resident of Gujrat, at Allama Iqbal International Airport. He was travelling to Madina and carrying 1.4kg methamphetamine.

The ANF Lahore also recovered 250gms opium and 200gms hashish from two local drug peddlers identified as Mohammad Aslam and Ghulam Abbas.

The ANF Peshawar recovered 980gms heroin from the possession of Zahir and Ibadullah, both residents of Charsadda.

In another operation in Peshawar, the ANF recovered 350gms opium from the possession of Asadullah, a resident of Charsadda.

The ANF intercepted a Hiace near the Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, and recovered 4.4kg hashish from the possession of Lal Jan, a resident of Peshawar.

The ANF also Peshawar recovered two kg hashish from Gul Akram, a resident of Khyber Agency, who was travelling in a bus.

Another accused, identified as Imran Zaman, a resident of Bannu, was held at Peshawar International Airport. He was travelling to Saudi Arabia and carrying 11,000 Xanax tablets weighing 720gms.

The ANF Peshawar also recovered 445gms hashish from Nazia Bibi, a resident of Khyber Agency.

The ANF Peshawar also recovered 1.1kg hashish from Hanifur Rehman of Bajaur Agency.

In the eighth operation, the ANF recovered 2.4kg hashish from Zari Gul of Jhelum.

A woman, Dilfarooza Bibi, resident of Malakand, was held after the ANF recovered 9.6kg hashish from her possession at the Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.

The force also arrested Syed Rasool and Ahmad, both residents of Khyber Agency, after recovering 2.2kg hashish from their possession.
