SWABI: Women University Swabi and Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) signed a memorandum of understanding here on Sunday for initiating joint research projects in various fields of interest.

The MoU was signed by Prof Khanzadi Fatima Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the Women University, and Engr Irfan Ahmad Rabbani, Director General PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Peshawar. Dr Shahzad Alam, Chairman PCSIR, and faculty were also present.

Briefing media about the MoU, Ms Khattak said the officials of the two organisations agreed to collaborate with each other while concentrating on the research according to the needs and requirements of the country.

She said the areas identified for future collaboration were medicinal plant research, herbal drug development, material sciences and women entrepreneurship. “Joint students’ supervision, trainings, workshops and seminars will be other forms of joint ventures and research activities,” she said.
