RAWALPINDI, Aug 24: Misbehaviour with MNA Naheed Khan is not acceptable and if federal minister Raza Hayat Hiraj and MNA Sher Afgan Niazi do not apologize to Ms Khan, then the PPP workers would gherao the National Assembly.

These views were expressed by chairman Asif Ali Lovers Association Haji Chaudhry Muqeem Khan, Haji Saleem Mughal, Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Afzal Khan, Ghafoor Mohammad Munjhlay Bhai and Sheikh Saif in a joint statement issued here on Sunday.

They said they had summoned a joint session of Zardari Lovers, People’s Youth and other organizations to consider the next line of action against the two ‘turncoats’.

The association leaders have demanded of the prime minister to rein in the two turncoats failing which the PPP workers would themselves take appropriate action against the two MNAs.

Meanwhile, activists of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Rawalpindi city have warned of retaliation if Raza Hiraj and Dr Sher Afgan do not resign within a week.

In a press conference held here on Sunday at Rawalpindi- Islamabad Press Club, the PPP city president, Chaudhry Younas, general secretary Shahbaz Ali Janjua, Nazim Satellite Town Imran Hayat, Union Council No 33 Nazim Malik Waseem Akram along with a number of other PPP local activists termed Mr Hiraj and Mr Afgan as turncoats. They held them responsible for bringing the parliament into disrepute.

Mr Younas said after insulting MNA Nahid Khan during a pre- planned drama, Mr Afgan and Mr Hiraj had no rights to remain as members of the party.

“They (Raza Hiraj and Sher Afgan) would be received with rotten eggs and tomatoes wherever they go, if both of them do not resign within seven days,” Mr Younas added.

Imran Hayat said like Benazir Bhutto, MNA Nahid Khan was also a symbol of democracy and struggled against dictatorships. Ms Khan had also rendered great services for Rawalpindi city.

He said Mr Hiraj and Mr Afgan should resign from the parliament and return to their constituencies for re-elections if they wanted to sit in the house.
