LAHORE, Aug 24: The Jamaat-i-Islami, the second largest constituent of the six-party religious alliance MMA, has decided to launch a stage-wise movement against the government.
A decision to this effect was taken at the central executive committee of the party held at Mansoora here on Sunday.
Jamaat officials say the Punjab and Sindh will be focussed in the movement in which social and economic issues will also be highlighted. A schedule for the drive will be finalized within 10 to 15 days.
Participants in the meeting deliberated upon the political situation in the country and decided that no further flexibility should be shown on the LFO.
They believed that rumours about the wrapping up of the system were being spread by the government to win the psychological war.
“The government knows it well that in the past givers of a system had to go along with the system.”
The Jamaat is also planning to change its style of protest in parliament and utilize the platform for raising public issues.
