TV content

Published October 24, 2017

THIS refers to TV content being aired these days. At the moment three to five serials on prostitution (Alif Allah Aur Insaan, Malkin, etc) and two to three about sexual harassment (Thori Si Wafa) are being aired.

Our country needs better TV programmes than this nonsense. We have no right to blame uneducated people for anything when the so-called educated lot is behaving naively by airing such plays.

The media should convey a positive message through their content instead of spreading negativity by airing such plays. What can people in our society learn by watching plays based on conflict between a woman and her mother-in-law and prostitution?

I hope the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority and TV channels will take notice of this issue.
