KARACHI, Aug 24: Three young men were feared drowned when their boat capsized near Bundal Island, between Korangi Creek and Do Darya, on Sunday.

Edhi sources said that according to initial information four young men in their private boat went towards the deep waters. At around 2pm, their boat capsized. However, one of them,identified as Qasim, 28, swam to safety.

The three young feared drowned were Salman, Saleem and Shoaib.

Till the filing of this report, none of the bodies were recovered from the sea.

However, sources said it was feared that there might be more persons on board the vessel, but it could not be confirmed.

SHOT DEAD: A security guard of a private security agency was shot dead by unknown armed men in the Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police jurisdiction late Saturday night.

Police said Manzoor Ahmed, 60, was on duty outside an apartment in sector 11-N, when unknown armed men shot him dead. Police said the suspects took away his gun.

The victim’s body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

BODY FOUND: The body of a middle-aged man was found in a graveyard in Orangi Town on Sunday.

Police said the dead was identified as Abdul Muttalib, 50, owner of an ice depot.

Police said the body was found in the Baloch Colony graveyard, the victim ran the depot in sector 13-D, Orangi Town.

Police said he was shot in the head, his body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

KILLED: Unknown persons killed a young man in the Artillery Maidan police jurisdiction late Saturday night.

Police said the body of an unidentified young man was found on the pavement near the National Museum.

The victim was struck with a blunt weapon on the head, police said.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem.

Later, the body was taken to the Edhi morgue for identification.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road traffic accident on the Super Highway on Sunday.

Police said Gul Wali, 35, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle near Mianwali hotel on the Super Highway.

Police said the victim was changing the wheel of his car when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. His body was shifted to the JPMC for autopsy.
