ISLAMABAD: The government will not tolerate overbilling, incorrect meter readings or fake bills, said Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari on Thursday.

He added that those involved in these activities would be shown the door without any discrimination. In his maiden interaction with chief executive officers of power distribution companies (Discos) via video link, Mr Leghari asked them to make efforts for sending correct bills to consumers.

Mr Laghari said that after two weeks of briefings by Discos he had come to the conclusion that the practice of fake bills and overbilling should be stopped now.
