THATTA: A three-member team visited civil hospitals in Makli and Sujawal a couple of days earlier to probe reports about misuse of Sindh People’s Ambulance Service by doctors and state of affairs at 13 government hospitals being run by Medical Resilience Emergency Foundation (MERF), sources disclosed on Thursday.
The team formed by Directorate General Health Services in the wake of media reports about misuse of the free ambulance service made inquiries into frequent referring of patients from one to the other hospital, said the sources.
The sources said the team comprising Dr Mubeen Memon, Dr Nasrullah Shaikh and Dr Mehmood Waqar would make another visit to MERF-run health facilities to look into complaints about shortage of medicines, specialists and consultants.
