LAHORE: The National U-16 Boys Seven-a-side Rugby Championship will be held here on Oct 21 and 22.

Seven teams — all from Punjab — are competing in this national event as no other province could field its team.

Teams from Lahore, Lodhran, Islamabad, Bahawa­lnagar, Sheikhu­pura, Faisalabad and Muzaff­arabad will compete in the event to be held at Pakistan Rugby Academy, Airport Road, Lahore Cantt.

Meanwhile, president of the Pakistan Rugby Union Arif Saeed said the National U-16 event was another major step in promoting rugby at the grassroots.
