IN February 2017 the Directorate-General of Immigration and Passports advertised vacancies in the MRP project phase III.

Screening tests for the said positions were conducted by the Pakistan Testing Service (PTS), results were declared within a week, and the merit list was displayed on the PTS website. Thousands of unemployed candidates had appeared for the test in the hope that the process would be swift, and positions would be filled on merit.

However, even after six months no interviews have been conducted for these positions despite clear instructions for filling vacant positions in the office memorandum of the establishment division No F 53 /1/2008-SP, dated Oct 22,2014 and a violation of clause (xiii) of the said memorandum by the directorate.

This clause states that “ministries/divisions/departments/attached departments/subordinate offices/ autonomous bodies/ semi-autonomous/ corporations/ authorities, etc., are required to finalise the recruitment within 60 days from the date of advertisement”.

I request the authorities that the recruitment process should be completed at the earliest.
