MAKKAH, Aug 22: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Friday said Pakistan was desirous of seeing peace and normalcy returning to Iraq at the earliest.

He was talking to Dr Adnan Ibrahim, Head of the Iraqi Governing Council, who called on him here at the state guest house, Qasr-i-Ziafa. Dr Adnan is in Saudi Arabia to perform Umra.

Dr Adnan stayed with the Prime Minister for some time. He congratulated the Prime Minister on performing Umra.

The prime Minister conveyed his best wishes for the people of Iraq.

The head of the Iraqi Governing Council expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for humanitarian aid and relief for the people of Iraq.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and members of his entourage performed Umra besides offering Friday prayers at the Masjid Al Haram along with chief of Pakistan Millat Party Farooq Ahmed Khan Legahri and NWFP Chief Minister Mohammad Akram Khan Durrani.—APP
