LAHORE: The NAB on Wednesday arrested an LDA official on charges of corruption in Commercialisation of LDA properties.

According to NAB, LDA forwarded a graft case to the bureau’s Lahore chapter for probe into an embezzlement in commercialisation fees amounting to Rs160m. NAB acquired physical remand of Usman Farooq till Oct 24.

The bureau has already arrested six officials — Usman Latif, Muhammad Mairaj, Ghulam Asghar, Muhammad Saleem, Syed Waqar and Nabeel Ahmed.

The arrested suspects managed to misappropriate millions through bogus payment slips, the NAB said.
