CDG to complete 20 roads

LAHORE, Aug 22: The City District Government will complete 20 roads under construction for the past three years under the Lahore Roads Reahbilitation Projects by December.

District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmud stated this while presiding over a CDG meeting held here on Friday to review progress of various road construction projects.

He also ordered payment of the arrears of road construction costs to the Frontier Works Organisation and the National Logistic Cell from the provincial governmnet grant of Rs830 million after verification of the bills by the consultants.

He said that 20 Lahore Roads Rehabilitation Project roads proposed to be completed after three years included Tuheed Park (Gulshan-i-Ravi) Road, Alhadeed Bazaar Road, Kissan Street (Circular Road), Guru Arjan Nagar Road, Loha Bazaar Road, Mason Road, Rehman Street, Shaheed Ganj Road, Pak Block (Allama Iqbal Town) roads, Ahmed Munir Sheed Road (Ichhra), Bhed Pind (Johar Town) Road, Haji Allah Bakhsh Road, Modern Colony Main Road (Township, Millat Road upto Baidianwala Bridge, Ilyas Street (Kot Lakhpat), Samanabad footpaths, Dhobian Street and Gulberg Railway Crossing.

He also ordered completion of the remaining work on Peco Road and Ravi Link Road being remodelled at a cost of Rs210 million within four weeks. He said that TEPA had completed 90 per cent work on the link road between Lahore Canal and Township bypass being built at a cost of Rs87.6 million.

The meeting was attended by District Coordination Officer Khlaid Sultan, FWO and NLC officials and CDG Executive District Officers for Works and Finance.
