ATTOCK, Aug 22: A terrorism case was registered against three religious leaders, including MNA Azam Tariq, on delivering provocative and derogatory remarks against a religious sect during a gathering on Thursday night.

Police said Muhammad Azam Tariq, Allama Sajidur Rehman and Moulana Massudur Rehman, made derogatory remarks against a religious sect besides chanting slogans while addressing the Azmat-i-Sahaba and Nifaz-i-Shariat conference at the Jamia Masjid Kamra Sharki.

They also condemned the arrest of religious activists, held in connection with the Quetta incident, and demanded that they be released immediately or a mass protest would be launched in this regard.

On the report of district police security department, Attock, the case was registered against the three leaders under the Terrorism Act. No arrests have been made.
