TIMERGARA: Minister for finance Muzafar Syed on Saturday said the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wanted to improve living standard of people by initiating welfare projects.

Addressing different public gatherings at Khat Kaly and Khan Serai villages in his PK-95 constituency in Talash, the minister said work on development projects worth of billions of rupees had been in progress across Lower Dir.

He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wanted to develop backward and remote areas in order to end the sense of deprivation among the inhabitants.

Mr Syed announced Rs1.5 million for construction of Khat Kaly mosque and street pavement, provision of solar panels to local water supply scheme and a power transformer for it.

Several political workers from PPP and ANP announced to join the JI.

WORKERS JOIN ANP: Dozens of political workers of JI, PTI and PPP from Gadala village of Balambat on Saturday announced to join the Awami National Party during a function.

Mukhtiar Khan, brother of ANP spokesman Zahid Khan, claimed the ANP had spent Rs6 billion on supply of natural gas to Lower Dir. He said the ANP was the only representative party of Pakhtuns.

MINISTER’S MOVE CONDEMNED: The Aalami Majlis Tahaffuz-i-Khatam-i-Nabowat, Lower Dir chapter, on Saturday demanded of the president and the prime minister to replace the federal minister for law Zahid Hamid for creating controversy on the Khatam-i-Nabowat law.

The demand was made during a meeting at Balambat which was chaired by district emir Maulana Imran Khan.

The speakers said finality of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the basic faith of every Muslim. The speakers also announced calling a conference on Oct 15 here in that regard.
