TIMERGARA: Disappointed with the policies of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several activists in Bishgram Maidan on Saturday announced to quit the party and joined Pakistan Peoples Party.

A function in this regard was held at the residence of one Mohammad Hazrat in Takht Bihgram village during which the PTI activists, including Dawa Khan, Samiullah, Ihsanullah, Inam Khan and others, announced to join PPP.

The PPP Malakand division vice-president and former MPA Mohammad Zamin Khan while addressing the function claimed that both the PTI and Jamaat-i-Islami had failed to fulfil their pledges and implement their election manifestoes.

He said that no development project had been launched in PK-96 constituency in Maidan. “The KP government should have announced special development package for Maidan as it was the worst-affected area of militancy in the near past,” Mr Zamin said.

He said now the PTI voters were disappointed and they were joining other parties. He said that the previous government had initiated several development projects in the constituency and alleged that the JI lawmaker from the area had now been fixing his own signboards on them.

The former MPA claimed that his party would win majority of seats in Dir in next election and would form coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Also in the day, PPP Lower Dir chapter inaugurated its party office at Chakdara where former provincial minister Mehmood Zeb was the chief guest. The PPP leaders on this occasion pledged to end internal differences ahead of the next elections.

Meanwhile, the police department on Saturday arranged an open kutcheri at the Zaimdara Maidan police station which was attended by local councillors and area elders. DPO Nowsher Khan chaired the event.

Speaking on the occasion, nazim Haidar Ali and local councillors demanded role of the dispute resolution council in resolving a decades-old dispute over ownership of hilly area and deployment of traffic police at Ziamdara Bazaar.

The DPO directed police officers on the spot to take steps for resolving the issues being faced by the area people.
