CHAKWAL: A man allegedly shot his younger brother dead over monetary dispute in Sardhi village in Kallar Kahar police area, police said on Monday.

According to police Khalid Mehmood had borrowed Rs1.5 million from Mazhar Shah, a resident of More Jhang village. Khalid’s elder brother was a right hand man of Mazhar Shah.

The elder brother used to visit Khalid to demand the return of the loan but he was unable to pay back the money.

On Monday, he again came to Khalid to finally ask him to return the money. During the conversation, both lost temper and the accused opened fire on him killing him on the spot, a police official said.

A case has been registered against the accused and Mazhar Shah. “The accused will soon be arrested,” the official said.

In the second incident constable Mohammad Ashfaq died in a road accident near Odherwal Chowk at Chakwal-Talagang Road.
