The leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah disagreed with PTI chief Imran Khan’s calls for early elections and said the incumbent government must complete its five-year term.

“I had earlier stated that for future governments a four-year term should be fixed, however, whatever the term of government is, it should complete it,” Shah said while talking to media persons at his residence in Sukkur on Monday.

“I have told Imran Khan that the government must be allowed to complete its tenure and only then polls should be held,” he added.

Let PM Abbasi complete his term as we don’t want situations in which assemblies are not allowed to complete their term, the PPP leader maintained.

“Imran Khan always acts in haste and therefore loses everything,” said Shah, adding that in the next elections the PTI will only win half of the seats out of their present tally in the parliament.

Commenting on the proposed nexus between PTI and MQM to get Shah replaced as the leader of the opposition, he said that Imran Khan should first apologise to MQM voters for hurting their sentiments.

“PTI doesn’t have any plan except for disturbing system.”
