National team arrives in UAE for Sri Lanka series

The national cricket team, led by Sarfraz Ahmed, arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, DawnNews reported.

The 16-member squad and nine officials travelled to the UAE early Sunday morning via a foreign airline.

The two teams will kick the tournament off with a day-and-night Test match in a two-match series, starting on September 28.

Sri Lanka will also play five one-day internationals and two T20 matches in the Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

A third T20 match will be played at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium subject to security clearance.

A day earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq, revealing the 16-member squad, announced that Wahab Riaz has been added back to the team; whereas Ahmad Shahzad and Mohammad Rizwan have been dropped from the team.

Inzi one wrong selection, Wahab Riaz does not deserve to be selected due to his age, last champion match Virat Kholi washed him problem in8 overs 86 runs, he is too old as fast bowler, this place deserve by Sohail Khan, Roman, or any youngester, you have not to consider him. Second mistake what is worng with you for FAWAD ALAM? pls stop discrimination against Karachi player ? he is one the best player. give him his rights.

I like the overall selection for Test matches, despite couple of names. Wahab Riaz must have shown something beyond his capacity to be in the team. Though, he seriously disappointed the team in last few series. This is his last chance to show his ability as Pakistan number one fast bowler. Now, the replacement of MIS-YOU. I believe, we have them in the names of Azhar and Asad. They have been groomed under MIS-YOU and are ready to replace them. Its now the chance of new batting potentials to show off and take their vacant places. Slightly, disappointed to see Shadab Khan left out. But, to see Yasir back is good too. Wishing Yasir well on his return. Shadab is young and will get his chance soon. Good Luck Pakistan Team!

How it is possible that a batsman (Fawad) who had highest first class average in Pakistan history (better than any Pakistani batsman by far margin including Miandad, Hanif, Zaheer, Younis, Yousuf, Misbah and even Inzamam), Player who is first to score century in debut match outside Pakistan (that was against Sri-Lanka in Sri-Lanka) where combined score of entire team was lower than Fawad (an individual batsman) is out of team? It is height of corruption, nepotism and injustice. All past selectors kept doing injustice to Fawad, and only reason was that some 'selfish' players in Pakistan test team 'keeping their interest above interest of country' felt scared that Fawad in test team would overshadow their presence and importance as batsman and run-getter. After retirement of Younis and Misbah, I though that he would be included in team as natural choice, but could not understand Inzamam 'Kufrana' behaviour. I never had any respect for PCB, now I have lost all respect for Inzamam too.

Pakistan best first class averages (qualification over 10000 first class runs with average over 52 runs per inning). 1st: Fawad: 56.51 ... (only 21 batsmen in world cricket history has average above Fawad. He is also the first Pakistani to score century on debut match outside Pakistan ... in worse condition, as in that match, combined runs made by Pakistani batsmen was lower than Fawad runs ... result, Fawad was given 2 more match and than dropped for life). ... 2nd: Miandad : 53.37 ... 3rd: Hanif: 52.32 ... On 4th place is Haris whose average is 52.01 but his total first class runs is 3849 runs. So, it is obvious that Fawad is the best batsman Pakistan has produced (much better than Inzamam, Yousuf, Younis, Misbah or could be even better than Miandad) but Pakistani corrupt Selectors kept him out.
