PESHAWAR, Aug 20: An accountability court on Wednesday reserved a judgment in a reference pertaining to misappropriation of contracts of the Primary Education Department (PED).

The judgment will be announced on Sept 5.

The defendants in the reference are a former director of the Primary Education Department, Mr Shahjehan Khan, and an assistant director of the project, Ms Sartaj Nazneen.

They had pleaded not guilty of the charge and decided to stand trial.

The National Accountability Bureau had charged the two accused with misappropriating about Rs67 million in different contracts of the PED, mostly about the provision of furniture to primary schools. Ten prosecution witnesses appeared during the trial.
