KARACHI: The Central District accumulated 1777 points with 44 gold medals to clinch top honours in the 4th Pizza Hut Karachi Games that concluded here recently.

A record number of participants competed in numerous disciplines at the Games. Karachi South finished second.

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and presented the Mai Kulachi trophy to Central District’s chef de mission Azmatullah Khan. Waseem offered his all out support to the organizers, Karachi City Sports Association, and also presented ajraks to all eight Nepalese athletes who took part in martial art events at the Games.

Meanwhile, Khalid Rehmani announced to hold the 4th Karachi Beach Games here in January 2018. NBP sports head Ovais Asad Khan, organiser Ghulam Mohammad and SSB’s Musheer Razik Rabbani were also present on the occasion.
