LAHORE: Law enforcement officials claim to have arrested a suspected suicide bomber from Model Town and shifted him to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

The arrest came following an intelligence report about the presence of a suspected suicide bomber in the surroundings of PML-N’s secretariat in Model Town.

An official requesting anonymity said the suspect had been arrested by officials of sensitive agencies, who also seized devices from him.

He said according to initial unconfirmed reports, the suspect was a driver of a government official.

However, senior officers of the Counter-Terrorism Department Punjab and Lahore police feigned ignorance about the arrest, saying since the sensitive agencies had not shared details with them of the suspect arrested, they were not in a position to comment on the matter.
