SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 19: A district and session judge on Tuesday ordered registration of a case against four staffers of tehsil council on corruption charge.
Petitioner Rai Imran submitted through Advocate Wilayat Khan that tehsil council staffers, supervisor Rashid Najmi, and his subordinates Sarwar, Khalid and Afzal on Aug 14 were charging Rs5 entry fee to the Aisha Park and Rs10 to Rs20 parking fee instead of Rs2 and Rs5, respectively, from the visitors.
The matter was brought to the notice of journalists who informed the district Nazim about the corruption of the tehsil council staff. The Nazim asked the DCO to probe the matter who raided the park and caught them red handed.
The DCO ordered B-division police to arrest them. Later, they were released on the interference of tehsil Nazim Mahmoodul Haq.
NO-TRUST: The rival group of tehsil Nazim claimed to have got the support of 46 councillors and in a position to table a no-confidence motion against him.
They claimed that 12 other councillors and Nazims and Naib Nazims, who did not want to disclose their identity, also assured them of their support.
Meanwhile, 46 councillors in a hurriedly called meeting on Tuesday, vowed to make no-confidence motion against Nazim Mahmoodul Haq a success.
The no-trust is being tabled against him for using development funds on his native town Mananwala ignoring other areas of the tehsil.
