Balochistan onion

Published September 18, 2017

BALOCHISTAN is a big producer of onion. About one million tonnes of onion can be harvested every year in the province. This year 0.9 million tonnes of onion has been produced, but no one buys them for a good rate. Recently Punjab has been facing a shortage of onions which at one point cost Rs150 per kilo there, while Baloch farmers are disappointed, mentally stressed and suffering as no one is buying their onion which they had produced after investing a huge sum on growing the crops.

I request the authorities concerned to buy the onion grown in Balochistan instead of importing the commodity from foreign countries. This will help to resolve the problem of Balochistan farmers.
