GHALANAI: Mohmand Agency political administration has suspended all perks and privileges of the sub-tribes of Ambar tehsil over their failure to hand over the wanted men to the authorities under the collective territorial responsibility.

The decision was taken at a jirga of Ambar elders with assistant political agent Naveed Akbar at Ekkaghund on Wednesday.

It is to be mentioned here that on Sept 1, a pro-government tribal elder, his son and another man were killed and two were injured when an improvised explosive device went off along a dirt track in Shati Meena area of Ambar.

On Aug 24, five people, including a woman, were injured in separate terrorist acts in the tehsil.

APA Naveed Akbar said the recent blasts and an attack on Khasadr post at Cahrguli showed that the elders and tribes had failed to fulfill their territorial responsibilities for protection of their soil. “Therefore all the privileges and incentives of the concerned tribes of Amabr have been suspended,” he said.

The official said the local tribesmen had also failed to identify the wanted men and hand them over to the administration.
