KARACHI: Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal discussed recruitment of policemen and law and order with Inspector General of Police A.D. Khowaja on Wednesday, which was their first contact since restoration of the latter’s powers by the Sindh High Court (SHC) last week.

The meeting is being taken as a sign of betterment of relations between the two high officials as they have experienced mixed relations during the last few months. The SHC on Sept 7 ruled that Mr Khowaja will continue to work as the provincial police chief.

A statement issued by the home minister’s office said the meeting was also attended by the home secretary.
