TIMERGARA: Peshawar High Court’s Mingora circuit bench on Tuesday restored 164 class-IV employees of the Local Government and Rural Development Department, Lower Dir.

Giving details, one of the restored employees, Niaz Moeen, told mediapersons here that a high court bench comprising Justice Musarat Hilali and Justice Nasir Mehfooz announced the decision.

A total of 164 class-IV employees were recruited by then deputy commissioner Lower Dir on June 30 last year.

Later, the local MPAs objected to the recruitment and the DC cancelled his orders and directed the assistant director local government to appoint new candidates on the recommendation of lawmakers.

The sacked employees filed a writ petition in the PHC’s circuit bench. Lawyer Hazrat Rehman pleaded the case for the petitioners and got a stay order on fresh appointments.

The two-member bench, according to advocate Hazrat Rehman, restored all the 164 class-IV employees recruited by then deputy commissioner.
