SWABI: Ten persons were killed and several others injured in different incidents occurred during the Eid days in various towns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Officials in Chota Lahor police station of Swabi district said a man and his sister-in-law were killed when their motorcycle collided with a car in Ghalu Kanda area on Chota Lahor-Adina road. The man was identified as Naheed Khan.

In Topi city, a 12-year-old child -- Ahmad Ali -- was killed when he was swept away by floodwater. His body was later recovered by locals.

Meanwhile, the Swabi police rounded up 120 suspects in a search operation, DPO Mohammad Sohaib Ashraf said on Monday.

The operation was conducted in Maneri, Gar, Shagai, Punjpir and Pitab village.

In Lower Dir, a man named Ameer Mohammad Khan, 45, was killed by unknown attackers in Barchonai area of Samarbagh on Saturday night.

The killers threw the body in a nearby stream. The victim had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and, according to his family, he had no enmity with anyone.

In Shangla, a van coming from Kabal Swat fell into a ravine near Macharh area after its brakes failed, killing two people and injuring seven others on Monday.

Alpuri police identified the dead as Amir Zeb and Faridoun, both residents of Kabal.

Police and locals rescued the injured and shifted them to the district headquarters hospital in Alpuri, wherefrom four of the injured were shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital Swat in critical condition.

In another accident occurred in Bely Baba area, a car met an accident due to over-speeding, as a result, four people were injured.

In Kohat, one person was killed and three others, including two army men, were injured when a military truck collided with a car near the Kohat tunnel on Monday.

Police said the army truck coming from Peshawar after losing control collided with a wall and then smashed a car going to Mardan. Mohammad Khalid of Mardan died on the spot, while sepoys Sajid, Abbas and driver of the car -- Shah Mohammad -- were injured.

In Chitral, a man named Zakaria was stabbed by his cousin Hassan Ahmed in Mughlandeh village on Eid day over a domestic feud. The accused has been arrested.

In Rech area of Torkhow, eight members of a family of Zabardast Khan fainted and were hospitalised after consuming boiled meat. However, Sajid Ali Khan, 11, died in rural health centre, Shagram.

A boy, 6, was killed and seven others were injured when a jeep plunged into a ravine in Parabek village near Garam Shashma on Monday. The deceased was named Mubarak Jan of Xitoor village.
