KARACHI: The Sindh Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Wednesday approved 17 development schemes worth Rs7.23 billion.

The schemes pertain to various divisions including work and services, agriculture, public health engineering department, irrigation and planning and development.

The PDWP meeting was presided over by Chairman for Planning and Development Board Muhammad Waseem.

The approved schemes include improvement and extension of water supply system for Kotri city at a cost of Rs150.82 million.

It approved 13 schemes for the Irrigation Department include installation of solar tube wells worth Rs519.33m, rehabilitation of branch drains, reconstruction of water course crossings, village road bridges and sub-drains in Shikarpur drainage division worth Rs153.54m.

One scheme each has been approved in the Planning and Development Department, Work and Services and Agriculture Department.
