RAWALPINDI: A Dubai-bound passenger was detained at Benazir Bhutto airport on Tuesday after 1.6 kg heroin was recovered from his baggage.

According to airport sources, the passenger was acting suspiciously when the check-in for Dubai bound flight EK-613 was in progress.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) staff stopped the passenger from boarding the plane and carried out a search of his baggage and seized 1.618kg heroin.

During interrogation, the passenger, a resident of Peshawar revealed to the ANF staff that he had also swallowed heroin filled capsules.

After his disclosure, he was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) for the recovery of capsules.
