DADU, Aug 16: An inquiry has been initiated against PTCL officials of the Southern Telecommunication Region-V for misappropriating million of rupees since January 2003.
The officials have allegedly drawn money from accounts of deceased and retired employees, TA/DA and medical allowances of lower staff.
The inquiry was initiated after higher authorities of the company received complaints from retired employees and widows of the deceased employees.
The director, internal audit, PTCL, along with his team, arrived at the general manager office on Saturday and sent letters to divisional engineers concerned, calling them to the Sukkur General Manager office for recording their statements.
The affected people have also sent complaints to the federal minister for telecommunication and the PTCL chairman and demanded that they should be provided them with justice.
The STR-V the districts of Dadu, Larkana, Sukkur, Naushahro Feroze, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Ghotki and Shikarpur.
SSGC: As many as 720 sacked employees of the Sui Southern Gas Company have not be reinstated despite a Supreme Court order in this regard.
This was said by retrenched engineers Imamuddin, Abdul Hameed and Ahmad Bux while talking to journalists at the press club here on Saturday.
They appealed to President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to direct the SSGC to implement the Supreme Court order.
RAILWAY: The district administration in cooperation with railway authorities took precautionary measures along the railway track from Kotri to Radhan in Dadu and deployed policemen at different sensitive places on Saturday.
