LAHORE: The Evacuee Trust Property Board on Monday approved grant of over 50,000 square feet of land to set up main campuses of Baba Guru Nanak International University and Ghandhara Heritage University at the federal capital and sub-campuses in provinces.

Board Chairman Saddiqul Farooq told a press conference the complex in Islamabad would house the main campuses. With both these universities becoming a reality, soft image of Pakistan will be promoted.

“All legal formalities are being finalised to transfer the land to the universities,” the chairman told reporters.

Students from the minorities would be given scholarships in both universities. The board has been working with the Higher Education Commission for developing curriculum and allied facilities for the universities.

Soon, appointments of vice-chancellors and project directors would be made.
